The reach out area of the department includes 516,000 patients in Central and Western Jutland. Recently patients from other hospitals of the region have been brought to the department as well, among others, patients with combined small cell carcinoma.

The vision of the regional oncological centre is to create and utilize a professional synergy on a larger scale.

By the help of video conferencing, we today receive sufficient and necessary sparring with colleagues from other hospitals and specialties. With the radiation therapy unit of Aarhus University Hospital located on the lower floor of our great facilities, we are also in close contact to the university hospital. The department also houses a vibrant educational environment and participates in the training of junior doctors as well.

The department is searching for a specialist who :

  • is a medical specialist with proven competence and experience in oncology
  • has proven experience and interest in developing interdisciplinary collaboration
  • are professionally inspiring and enterprising
  • has good cooperative skills
  • is service minded towards both patients and the department’s cooperation partners
  • has IT competencies at a sufficient user level


In the department you’ll have the chance to:

  • become part of the team, where you can, in collaboration with the other medical colleagues, make everything come together through ambitions and actions
  • have plentiful possibilities by very soon gathering all oncological treatments of the regional unit at the new hospital of Western Jutland in Gødstrup


Apply now if you are:

  • Specialized in Oncology with experience in chemotherapy (or its equivalent as in EU Directive 2005/36/EC)
  • Experienced in the field of mamma / colon
  • Motivated for living and working abroad
  • Able to take part in our intensive language course in one of European cities
  • Proficient in spoken and written English (min. B2)
